Application Support / Takeover · Monitoring · Named Engineer

We take over the systems you already run.

Your developer is gone, the system is not. A two-week takeover assessment, then monitoring, fixes, small changes and a named engineer, for the web app somebody else built, or the one we build for you.

// 01 what we do

An assessment first, then the system has an owner again.

Our web application maintenance services start with the custom systems that outlive the people who built them: the client portal, the booking app, the internal tool, the integration that moves orders, the AI workflow somebody set up last year. When the developer leaves, the system keeps running until it does not.

The takeover assessment reads the code, the hosting, the data, the access and the risks, in two weeks. Ask for a quote before we start. You get a written report: what it is, what is fragile, what must change now, what it costs to keep. Whether or not we continue.

Then a monthly plan: monitoring, backups, fixes, small changes, a named engineer who now knows the system, and a path for the bigger changes when you want them.

// 02 why an assessment first

You cannot support what you have not read.

Anyone who quotes a support price for a system they have not read is guessing, and the guess is paid for later. The assessment is two weeks of reading, running and asking, so the support plan fits the system rather than a template.

It also answers the question owners are afraid to ask: should this be rebuilt? Sometimes yes, and the report says so, with the cost of both paths.

Most systems are kept. They need backups that work, secrets that are not shared, updates that are tested, and a person who will answer.

// 03 what we take over

Stacks we take over, and proof we have carried systems.

We take over the stacks small and mid-sized businesses actually run. The proof is the systems we have migrated and carried for years.

The takeover assessment takes two weeks. Ask for a quote for the assessment and monthly support; the report prices the plan for your system.
// 04 how rtw works

Assess. Stabilize. Support. Plan the next phase.

We start by reading the system and writing down what it is, so the support plan and the price are about your system and not a template.

01

Access

You give read-only access to the code, the hosting and the accounts. We send the checklist the same day.

02

The assessment

Two weeks. Code, hosting, data, access, risks. A written report with a ranked list and a support price.

03

Stabilize

The first fixes: backups restored once, secrets rotated, monitoring on, staging up, a deploy path.

04

Support

A monthly plan: monitoring, updates, fixes, small changes within included hours, a named engineer.

05

Changes

Small changes inside the plan; features and integrations quoted and scheduled.

06

The next phase

When the system needs more than upkeep, a plan with numbers: extend, replace parts, or rebuild.

// 05 why rtw

Support from people who have carried systems for years.

001

We read before we quote

The assessment is the quote. No template prices for systems we have not seen.

002

Senior engineers only

The person who assesses the system is the person who supports it. Since 2012, Reston, VA.

003

Honest about rebuilds

The report says when a system should be replaced, with the cost of both paths.

004

Proof in the Works

WordStream's platform migration, the MITAGS training platform, the iA enterprise platform, the Century 21 New Millennium Brokerage OS: taken over or built, then carried.

005

AI systems included

We support the AI workflows and agents we build, and we take over the ones somebody else left behind.

// 08 fit

Good fit when the system matters and the person who knew it is gone.

RTW is a good fit for a custom web system the business depends on, built by a freelancer, an agency or a former employee, running on a stack we take over.

It is not a good fit when the system has no access left and no code; then the assessment becomes a rebuild scope, and we say so up front.

common situations
  • The developer left, the agency closed, the contract ended
  • The system runs but nobody dares touch it
  • A password for everything, and everybody has it
  • Hosting renewals and domains expire by surprise
  • An update broke it once and updates stopped
  • An AI workflow somebody set up and nobody understands
  • You are buying a business that comes with software
// 09 straight answers

Straight answers to the questions we usually hear first.

OBJ 01

Why pay for an assessment before support?

Because a support price for an unread system is a guess you pay for later. The assessment is two weeks with an agreed quote, and you keep the report whatever you decide.
OBJ 02

The code is a mess. Will you still take it?

Usually. Messy code with backups, monitoring and an engineer who knows it is a supportable system. The report says when it is not.
OBJ 03

Can you support a stack you did not build?

Yes: PHP, Laravel, WordPress, Node, React, Next.js, Python, Django, Flask, and the AI workflows people set up on them. The assessment confirms it for your system.
OBJ 04

What if you recommend a rebuild?

You get the cost of both paths. Most systems are kept and stabilized; some are replaced in parts over time.
OBJ 05

Who owns everything?

You do: code, hosting, accounts, documentation. We rotate the secrets into your password manager, not ours.
// 10 common questions

Questions from the intake conversations.

01 What is a takeover assessment?
Our web application maintenance services begin with two weeks in which we read the code, the hosting, the data, the access and the risks of a system somebody else built, and write a report: what it is, what is fragile, what to fix first, what support costs. Ask for a quote for the assessment.
02 Which technologies do you support?
PHP, Laravel, WordPress, Node, React, Next.js, Python, Django, Flask, common databases and cloud hosts, plus the AI workflows and agents built on them.
03 What does a support month include?
Monitoring and alerts, backups with restore tests, tested updates, fixes, small changes within included hours, and a named engineer. Monthly report. Ask for a quote; the plan is priced in the report for your system.
04 Can you take over an AI workflow or agent somebody else built?
Yes. We assess what it does, what it may do, and what it costs to run, then support it under the same plan.
05 What if we have no documentation?
Most systems we take over have none. The assessment produces the first documentation.
06 What if we have lost access to parts of the system?
The assessment lists what is reachable and what is not, and what it takes to recover or replace the rest.
07 How fast do you respond?
Within the plan's response time during business hours Eastern; emergency terms are in the report.
08 Do you also support WordPress sites?
09 Do you work remotely?
Yes, across the United States. Clients in Reston, VA and the DC metro can meet us by appointment.
