Case study - iA Innovation Associates - active retainer

iA Innovation Associates, B2B content delivery automated.

iA Innovation Associates is one of the leading specialists in pharmaceutical distribution automation: deep technical expertise, long client relationships, and a website that did not reflect either. RTW was brought in to rebuild the digital presence from the ground up: a modern enterprise WordPress site, a structured whitepaper library for pharmaceutical automation content, and an automated delivery system so enterprise buyers could request and receive materials without a sales rep in the loop.

What the website needed to become.

iA Innovation Associates has spent years building a highly specialized reputation in pharmaceutical distribution automation: helping health-system clients reduce manual processes, improve compliance, and modernize dispensing infrastructure. The expertise was real. The website was not doing it justice. It had an outdated design, no structured way to surface the whitepapers and educational content that proved the expertise, and no mechanism for prospective clients to request those materials without going through a manual sales process.

RTW was brought in to do three things simultaneously: redesign the corporate website to reflect the sophistication of the business, build a structured whitepaper library that organized iA pharmaceutical automation content into a searchable, navigable system, and automate the delivery workflow so enterprise buyers could request materials through a form and receive them immediately.

The result is an active engagement that launched in 2021 and continues under retainer. The gated whitepaper flow lets prospects submit a form, receive materials automatically, and enter the lead pipeline without friction. The corporate site was rebuilt in WordPress with a conversion-oriented UX and a responsive layout designed for the B2B decision-makers iA needs to reach.

Why the site needed more than a redesign.

[01]

Redesigning an outdated enterprise site

The existing website did not reflect the credibility of the business. It needed a ground-up rebuild with modern B2B design, clear content hierarchy, and a frontend that communicated pharmaceutical automation authority.

Critical
[02]

Building frictionless gated content access

iA had deep technical whitepapers that were valuable to prospective clients and no reliable way to surface them. Prospects either did not know the materials existed or had to go through a manual request process. The whitepaper flow needed to make gated content discoverable with a single-step form that felt frictionless rather than like a sales trap.

Critical
[03]

Automating resource request and delivery workflows

Manual whitepaper fulfillment had to be replaced with automated email delivery: form submission triggers delivery, no human step required, and every request is captured for follow-up.

Critical
[04]

Improving content discoverability inside the whitepaper library

A whitepaper library with no navigation structure is indistinguishable from a file dump. The taxonomy needed to match how pharmaceutical automation buyers think: by topic, use case, and distribution type.

Medium
[05]

Creating a responsive enterprise UI for B2B audiences

Enterprise buyers review technical content on desktop and mobile. The layout had to serve long-form content, credibility-building design, and clean form interactions across devices.

Medium
[06]

Maintaining simplicity through a complex delivery workflow

The automation layer had to be invisible to the user: one clean form and a delivery email, with all validation, lead capture, and delivery logic handled in the backend.

How we took it from redesign to automation.

A B2B site where the content delivery is the product.

iA value to prospective clients lives in the expertise documented in their whitepapers. Every design and technical decision had one job: make it easier for a qualified buyer to find that content, request it, and receive it immediately.

A
Conversion-focused UX design Every page was designed with a clear next action without making the site feel like a funnel.
B
Lightweight, maintainable WordPress Clean theme architecture, sensible content types, and a resource taxonomy iA could extend as the library grew.
C
Automation-first content delivery The whitepaper workflow was engineered before the forms were designed: triggered sends, lead capture, and delivery confirmation.
D
Mobile-responsive enterprise UI The responsive layout was tested against B2B use cases: long-form technical content, form flows, and delivery confirmation.
PHASE // 01 Discovery

Stakeholder alignment, content audit, and workflow mapping

Reviewed the existing site, audited the whitepaper library, mapped lead-generation requirements, and defined the content taxonomy and delivery workflow before design or development began.

Three things worth showing.

Feature 01 / 03 - gated content

Whitepaper library, gated and structured.

The whitepaper library is where iA pharmaceutical automation expertise becomes usable for enterprise buyers. Technical materials are organized by topic and distribution type, each with a dedicated landing page and a gated request form. The library is built to grow: iA team can add new publications without developer support, and the taxonomy keeps the experience navigable as the content scales.

  • Centralized whitepaper library organized by pharmaceutical automation topic and distribution use case.
  • Dedicated landing page for each whitepaper with a gated request form and content preview.
  • Taxonomy-driven navigation by topic, type, and use case without relying on search alone.
  • Client-managed CMS: iA adds, updates, and retires whitepapers without developer support.

We build platforms that work for the team behind them.

A site that does not reflect the expertise of the business it represents is leaving leads on the table. If your admin is slowing your team down, or your lead-gen workflow is still manual, we would like to hear about it.
