Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) are Web pages designed to load almost instantly in mobile browsers and apps. AMP files adhere to an open source specification designed to limit functionality and prioritize speed. They can also be cached online, which allows them to reach devices more quickly.

AMP improves the mobile experience and reduces the number of users who abandon a site due to slow loading times. Companies that distribute their content to various sites across the Web may also generate more ad revenue, as the content loads faster.

The Google Chrome app adds a badge next to AMPs that appear in search results. All WordPress pages and posts use AMP by default.
